Runway1
Welcome to Runway1 - the first Disc Golf Course by Wheels Up Disc Golf. Runway1 is designed to be a course for beginners to have fun, and for experienced players to hone in their mid-range and short game. My hope is for this to be a course for members of the community to hit their first ace, sink their longest putt, and have fun with their friends and family while enjoying the game of Disc Golf.

Course Design
1 / Mando Knows
250* ft. hard left turning hole with a tree that is mandatory to the right. Mando's limit your shot shape selection, in this case - have a beefy (hard turning) disc in your bag.
2 / Medium Air
300* ft. straight open shot. We are a family friendly, beginner course but if you want the birdie here you'll need to put a little zip on something.
3 / The Runway
With tree planted in a cone towards the basket this 250* ft basket is designed to look like a runway guiding you to your destination.
4 / JAH
This is likely to be Just a Hole (JAH) for now. But we've got an idea to add a metal carpet awning right in front of the basket. We'd call it "The Hanger". If you happen to have one you'd like to donate or sell to Wheels Up - please email us at wheelsupdg@gmail.com
5 / The Backstop
A short hole straight at the basket with fence behind the basket. Sometimes when you give a little extra to make the run at the basket you get yourself in trouble for birdie. We want you to get the ace, and if you miss the chains - hopefully you can at least stay close enough to close out the bird.
6 / Tree Sandwich
This medium hole goes slightly up with a couple trees that will create obstacle as they mature.
7 / Big Wedge
This 200* ft hole is designed with no direct line of sign to the basket. The player is encouraged to shoot for the Sky Gap (look up). As my friends and I always like to say - The Sky Gap is Always Open. Not feeling confident hitting a tight window on a fairway? Check the sky gap!
8 / Low and Slow
It's going to be short (200* ft or so) and goes down a ridge line of slight elevation. Need something slow that will drop at the right time if you don't want to be putting back up.
9 / Blind Bucket
The final hole of the course is a 230 ft hole that with slight elevation in the middle so the basket isn't visible from the tee. Up and over, with tight forest line to the left.

Course Etiquette
This course is designed to be fun for all and welcomes all levels of skill as such we want it to be an inclusive experience. The rules are simple:
-
Pack it in, Pack it out - please take out with you what you bring to the course. This will help us keep the course clean for all to enjoy.
-
Be considerate to others, in words and actions - Always wait for players to clear the hole before throwing, say "four" or "duck" when a disc nears another group, let faster players play through when possible.
-
Tip: I've always found it best to drive a hole together with the faster group then let them putt out first and keep moving
-
-
Have fun!
I like to say that bad rounds die but aces live forever. Whether you are having the best round of your life or you are entering the last hole of a round gone wrong - take the shot!

The Little Free Library of Discs
What if I don't have discs but I want to play?
Don't panic - we've got you. There is a little free library of discs near the parking area as you enter. Take a couple that you think will fit your throw, then return them after your round.
I lost a disc at Runway1, is there a lost and found?
We encourage all players who find discs to leave them in the little free library for their rightful owners to pick back up.
