Designing A Board Game

Hello Friends,
Here at Wheels Up, we're making progress on two fronts!
Board Game Design Takes Off:
I've finally begun designing a board game concept I've been mulling over for a couple of years now. The basic mechanics are outlined in a rulebook, and I've even created a prototype of the board layout. While there's still detail work to tackle, I'm aiming to conduct some playtesting sessions over the summer.
If the game proves to be strong enough, I might consider co-publishing it with a game company. (You can quit calling me Hasbro, I'll let you know when I'm ready :)
Ideally, I'd license or co-release the game. Personally handling production and distribution isn't my forte; I'd much rather focus on design and sales. A Kickstarter campaign, for example, would require me to manage all those aspects.
Many game companies accept open submissions, but I've found:
They often have specific game types in demand.
They might have multi-year plans in place, so there could be a wait.
We'll cross that bridge when we come to it. For now, I'm thrilled to have this game idea in development!
I'll delve deeper into the game mechanics and the influences behind it in a future post, once things are a little further along.
