Exciting News – and a Short Story

Growing up, my favorite book was This Is a Great Place for a Hotdog Stand.

(Spoiler alert, if you haven’t read this 30-year-old children’s classic!)

The story follows the main character on a quest to find the perfect spot to build a hot dog stand. It takes time, trial & error, and persistence — but in the end, he makes it happen.

Over the past few years, I’ve been on my own similar journey: preparing to buy land and build a disc golf course. Like the book’s protagonist, I’ve learned what will and won’t work in a property, lost out on a few offers, and faced setbacks. But through it all, I’ve held onto cautious optimism.

This weekend marked a huge milestone — we closed on 10 acres near Clayton, WI!

The work is just beginning, but I’m filled with gratitude for the friends and family who have supported this dream, especially my wife. With their encouragement, I’m taking the leap!
