The wait

When my friends say, "Wheels Up" it's usually right as we are leaving. Or we will say, "Wheels Up in 5!" or some other number of minutes.

An undervalued part of that is that the time you need to wait is known. It's either instant or in an expected number of minutes.

Currently, we've submitted an offer for the latest property I'm attempting to acquire for a disc golf course.

We've timed the offer with expiration midday tomorrow - but you never know if they will accept.

So while we wait, I'll tell you about it.

You drive on paved roads west for about 10 minutes after exiting 35W mid-way to Duluth.

The road is bordered by homes, then farmland, then woods, until you see a driveway.

As you go down the driveway, there is a small pond to your left.

The driveway takes you down a few feet before slowly rising back into a wide open soy field.

No skyscrapers, just the sound of nature, and a large field lined with woods.

In my mind, you can see a small area to park to your right, a teepad for hole one just past the pond, and the faint sound of ringing chains intermixes with bird calls.

This is the latest place I hope to make the future home of Wheels Up's first disc golf course.

Wheels up in... well, just wish us luck!
